FD: FOR GOALKEEPER TRAINING

  • The Goalkeeper, even though he is another player of the team, maintains a specificity that makes him different in all areas of training.
  • However, increasingly, his work (especially in the offensive aspects) requires a coupling to the rest of the team, so that his learning includes elements that until now were not typical of his work:
    • The aspects of decision-making at the start of the offensive game.
    • The orders and orientations that must be transmitted to the team in the defensive phases.
    • His technical play with his feet for a start of the associative style of play.
    • Tactical actions that have evolved with the greatest pressure and speed of the collective game.
    • The decisive decisions that must be made in each Competition Unit (according to the game system, the style of play, etc.) to adjust the sub-phase of the beginning of each offensive phase, in relation to the defensive proposals made by the opponent (types of retreat, defensive structures, forms of marking, etc.).
  • The specific levels of learning in the areas of technique, tactics, and collective actions of the goalkeeper, will be based on the same principles of the rest of the field players. Obviously adapting and establishing the characteristics of the goalkeeper at each level.
  • The didactic forms must be established in the same way as the "field" player, that is:
    • FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ASPECTS OF SKILLS / ABILITIES OF THE TECHNIQUE AND / OR TACTICS, BOTH FOR THE PLAYER AND THE GOALKEEPER, WE WILL USE BASICALLY ANALYTICAL AND / OR MIXED METHODOLOGIES.
    • For aspects related to real game situations: WE WILL USE THE DIDACTIC FORMS ESTABLISHED FOR THE COLLECTIVE GAME AND THEREFORE, THE GOALKEEPER WILL BE PART OF THE ACTIVITY EQUALLY AND JOINTLY WITH THE REST OF THE TEAM.
    • In the area of Collective Actions (aspects of decision-making) and in the formative stages, we consider the demarcation of the goalkeeper as a line of play: THEREFORE, THE CONCEPTS AND THE APPLICATION OF THE UNIVERSAL "PREVIOUS" AND "BASIC" FUNDAMENTALS, ARE APPLICABLE TO THE GOALKEEPER IN THE SAME WAY AS TO ANY OTHER PLAYER.
  • We consider the goalkeeper as a player of the first line of attack, and as the last of the defense. Obviously, there are specific considerations (technical and tactical) specific to its demarcation.
  • The goalkeeper, in the development of the different Didactic Forms, will always have a direct participation in the game (both in defense and in attack). Even so, there are different appreciations that make their participation in the game different from the rest of the field players:

In relation to the concepts of the Collective Game

  • Their playing area is the goal area. Which implies that "leaving your area" implies invading the prison area, or even leaving it.
  • In the counterattack / quick attack, before a recovery of the ball in play, the goalkeeper will not manifest the progression with the ball, but will play it to the best placed partner.
  • He will only participate directly in the game with the ball in the offensive sub-phases of Start/Progression, and in the 3rd i/o 4th defensive sub-phase.

In relation to the Universal Foundations

  • In the "balance on the Line", since he is the only player who occupies it, he will basically work in the middle lane.
  • In the offensive sub-phases of Progression/Completion your participation will be limited to performing "Defensive Surveillance".

In relation to didactic forms

  • We will use the goalkeeper in defense following the parameters of the Real Game within his demarcation, like any other player, always subordinating him in his line of play.
  • In attack we will especially focus on the sub-phases of Start / Progression, so that it is the reference of the beginning of the offensive action for the team, whatever the style and the game system that is used.

In relation to training

  • The high level of stress that accumulates during the match due to the responsibility of his actions, the loneliness of his game, and the minimal, but intense participation he has during the development of the game.
  • The huge pauses between action and action, participating almost exclusively in the most delicate moments.
  • The need to know perfectly the characteristics of the game of your team and that of the opposite (to be able to effectively anticipate their actions).
  • -to carry out a high time of training "alone" (without the "stimuli" of group work).
  • In the training activity we must try:
    • That the failure in the actions carried out is not a usual result (does not achieve the objective).
    • That the actions with positive result are not constant.
  • We understand that the perception of success or failure on the part of the goalkeeper is not marked by having managed to "touch" the ball, but by the fact that it has not entered on goal, so the actions must always be carried out:
    • On a regulatory goal.
    • With great precision.

In relation to the emotional and evolutionary aspects

  • Manifestation of psychological aspects (courage, leadership, decision).
  • Safety.
  • Precision.
  • Anticipation.
  • Firmness.
  • Organization and defensive command.

ANALYSIS OF THE DEMANDS OF THE GAME ON THE GOALKEEPER.

We must not forget that each demarcation within a game system is a specialty. Therefore, individualized training must meet the needs of the game (technical, tactical, conditional, psychological or collective) for each demarcation.
