The Session
THE SESSION |
Continuous time dedicated to training (usually in football 2-3-4 sessions each microcycle / week or with a double weekly session), in which a set of tasks are performed, ordered in relation to:
The session can have one character:
In any case, the session involves a type of load that must be specified and quantified (at least globally) according to its duration, intensity, volume, metabolic pathway requested as a priority. |
GUIDELINES FOR DESIGNING THE SESSION:
- From the monitoring of the program:
- In relation to what is established in the planning (in the meso-cycle and the corresponding micro-cycle), of the season / cycle in which we work.
- Determine the area(s) to be developed (in relation to what was established in the day/session within the corresponding micro-cycle).
- Take into account the loads set for this day/session.
Based on the analysis of the competition:
- Partialize the overallity of the competition in Competition Units (distinguishing the Offensive phase from the Defensive Phase.
- Determine the errors manifested in the competition and the causes that have caused them, through the analysis of each Game Situation:
- From the team.
- From several lines of play.
- From a line of play.
- 1 or several players.
- The aspects of execution (technical, tactical, physical), or decision (Collective Actions or Collective Situations), incorrectly manifested.
- The variants to be used (if applicable) depending on the conditions of:
- Our team.
- The opposition.

PREPARE THE MATCH
(prepare the coach)
⇨ / - call date: time:
*Notes to highlight:
*Objective corresponding to the "previous activity – in the dressing room" (the blank boxes imply that it is a job to be programmed by the coach
*Recovery/Prevention// strength (with specific warm-up) //training. resistance // speed/activation (with specific heating):
Exercise no.: 03101502
RESISTANCE WORK: in pre-season
* Aerobic resistance - anaerobic resistance. - Speed resistance - recovery work...)
* Collective Actions -I- (fundamentals) // tactics -I- //collective game in attack //collective game in defense // movements of the system // the defensive game // technique -I-:
Exercise no.: 03011206
⇨ TECHNICAL -I-: Decontextualized action with opposition "reception"

* Specific Motor Skills without opposition→ displacements (frontal - lateral - dorsal)
*Objectives corresponding to the activities: 1(adaptation) – 2 (main) – 3(reinforce) – 4 (specific work).
The yellow boxes are an already developed target. The green boxes new targets.
* OBSERVATIONS PRE AND POST TRAINING: *analysis of the training //proposals for the next training...
⇨
*the coach will write down the circumstances that occur
*RECOVERY WORK:
Exercise No.: 03102800
*to be developed where necessary
Let's see TWO examples of the distribution of all the aspects that can contemplate a training session:
1ST SAMPLE OF THE ASPECTS THAT CAN BE CONFIGURED IN A TRAINING SESSION
5/10m.
Presentation of the objectives of the session
Talks in the dressing room (whiteboard – video -...)
10m
Adaptation
Warm-up (with or without ball/ rondo - stretching conducted - coordination activities, ...)
10/20m.
Part 1
Introductory
Objective Analysis (Corrective games – corrective exercises – football games – "specific rondos" – chained passing games -...)
*In each part, before starting the exercise, the coach or specialist will expose to the players the work to be done (in a rondalla for 2-5 m.)
10/20m.
Part 2
Approximation
Goal Development (Routines – ACC -JFER– MS – Game routes -...)
10/20m.
Part 3
Main
Corrections on what has been developed (Positioning game – Work of lines -...)
10/20m.
Part 4
Conclusions
Real Game to assess what has been achieved (50% – 11:11 – strategies -...)
5/10m.
Final Part
Return to calm
Free stretches -
*Part of the squad to the dressing room
10-20m.
Work
specific
Work for the specific improvement of some individual or collective aspect with 1 player, a demarcation or a line of play:
- Classroom (audiovisual – blackboard -...)
- Field (greenboard
- Analysis work
- Progressive lines -...)
*Goalkeepers can work the entire session separately, until they are called to participate with the team (one or both). The rest will be able to continue working specifically.
*Parallel to the work of the team, a recovery work will be carried out with the injured players directed and individualized.
*The physical trainer, in addition to stretching and warming up, will control the work times, intensity and recovery time of the different activities that are carried out during the session.
