It is important to distinguish three different meanings of the concept of performance:

  • High sports performance: Training phase and preparation in the long and medium term to develop the player's capabilities to the maximum.
  • Performance: Stage that belongs to the High Performance Sports Phase in which it is intended to achieve the maximum effectiveness of the individual capabilities of a player.
  • Maximum performance: Process in which it is intended to obtain in the short term the maximum efficiency of a team, with the sole purpose of overcoming the opposite in the competition.
