Action composed of individual and / or collective evolutions, which are carried out in a short space of time in a usually unforeseen way (although the actions must be established and foreseen strategically) when the team that defends recovers the ball, keeping it in play.

The priority objective is to achieve control of the ball to:

  • Perform a quick attack.
  • Perform a counterattack.
  • Initiate a control attack (positional/associative).

The immediate action to be taken by the player recovering the ball will be related to:

  • The area in which it recovers (we can and must establish certain recovery zones so that we can design and train the options/actions that will allow us to achieve the intended objective).
  • The spaces that manifest between him and the opposing goal, number of opponents.
  • The support(s) you receive from colleagues in D.O. or from those who are more backward and free of marking.

If the player who recovers it can NOT directly initiate a quick attack or a counterattack, he can secure the ball by playing it to the free partner who is outside the recovery zone (directly or indirectly), then he can initiate a control attack (positional / associative).
